My Brewing Journey...So Far!

In April of 2019, I made my first batch of mead. At my girlfriend(now wife!)'s request, I made it as alcoholic as I could. It ended up reaching about 16% ABV and I called it Hundred Acre Wood.

It was not great. But the process fascinated me. I dabbled a little more with mead, but didn't really find my stride until 2020. COVID hit, my girlfriend and I were fortunate to move into a house and my first big purchase was a kegerator(refrigerator to store kegs with taps coming out of the top), which would allow me to brew beer and have it on tap right in my kitchen. That was all I needed to convince myself to buy a little all-in-one electric brew system and give it a try.

Since then, I've spent a lot of time learning through podcasts, videos, books and my own experiences. I've had a great time, gotten to share some good beer (and sometimes some not so good beer) with great friends. I even went back to making mead as well, this time armed with more knowledge, with considerably more delicious results.

In 2026 I challenged myself to brew 5.5 gallons of beer every month for the entire year. I've been enjoying the journey and refuse to see this hobby and craft die. If you've ever had any interest in learning how to brew, feel free to reach out!
